2026 Rundisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Recap

I had the most magical time at the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend! From the high-energy race atmosphere to the unforgettable princess vibes, this event truly lived up to the hype.
In my previous post, Disney Princess Half Marathon: What to Expect as a First-Time Runner, I shared how to prepare—now I’m recapping my full experience, sharing helpful runDisney tips, and what you can expect for the 2027 Princess Half Marathon Weekend.

Race Prep: runDisney Princess Weekend Expo
The runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Expo is the perfect way to kick off race weekend. From bib pickup to exclusive merchandise, character photo ops, and essential runDisney tips, this is your first stop before race day.
The expo is held at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and is spread across three buildings—all within walking distance with plenty of signs and Cast Members to guide you.

If you are coming just for the runDisney merch – go to the Advent Health Arena. Popular items sell out fast!
- HP Field House
- Start here for bib pickup, waiver signing (if not completed yet), and character photo ops. Be sure to bring your ID and check-in pass from your email.
- Visa Athletic Center
- Head to the back to pick up your race t-shirt. You’ll also find race-day essentials like fuel, gear, and apparel. This is where you can view course maps, medals, and even shop special pop-ups like Pandora and Crowned Athletic.

Pro tip: Keep the clear runDisney bag your shirt comes in—this is the only bag accepted for gEAR check on race day. Check the FAQs at the end of this post if you don’t know what gEAR check is.
- Advent Health Arena
- If you’re shopping for official runDisney merchandise, go here first. Popular items (especially jackets) sell out quickly. So consider pre-ordering if there’s something you really want. RunDisney x Brooks shoes are also available to buy but there is no pre-order option. This is also where you’ll find race-themed photo ops and pick up pre-ordered merch.
Event transportation: Getting to the Starting Line
Getting to the start line is one of the most important parts of your runDisney race day—and planning ahead makes all the difference.

I took the complimentary runDisney bus from my Disney resort around 3:30 AM and had no issues getting there on time. Based on my experience, here are your main transportation options:
- 🚌 Bus (Best Option)
Buses run regularly from about 3:00–5:00 AM from Disney Resort hotels. This is my top recommendation—it’s free, reliable, and riding with other runners adds to the race-day excitement. - 🚝 Monorail
Typically available for longer races like the half marathon. This is most convenient if you’re staying at a monorail resort like Disney’s Grand Floridian. - 🚕 Taxi / Rideshare
A flexible option if you’re staying on or off property, though less commonly used for race morning. - 🚗 Self-Drive
If you’re staying off property, you can drive to the EPCOT parking lot. Be sure to allow extra time for early morning traffic and parking.
✨ runDisney Tip: If you’re staying on property, stick with the bus—it’s the easiest and most stress-free option. Next time, I’ll be catching the 3:00 AM bus—and here’s exactly why 👇
Rundisney Princess Half Marathon Corrals
After security, I was directed toward the runDisney Princess Half Marathon corrals. It’s a bit of a walk, but there’s plenty to see along the way—photo ops in front of Spaceship Earth, bathrooms, gEAR check, and even food trucks.
Eventually, I arrived at the pre-show area and corral entrances (A–G), where the race-day energy really kicks in.

What Time Should I Be In My Corral?
Plan to arrive in the corral area between 3:30–4:00 AM to fully enjoy the experience.
runDisney Tip: Work backward—factor in bus transportation, security, and walking time so you’re not rushed.
I’ll be honest—I didn’t get there as early as I wanted this time. Since I was in the last corral, we headed straight in to avoid starting too close to the Balloon Ladies.
What Time Does the Race Start?
The official start time is 5:00 AM, but corrals are released in waves.
I was placed in Corral G (the last corral) and didn’t cross the start line until 5:55 AM. I’m not gonna lie – this was not my preference but I also did not give a Proof of Time.
Pro Tip: Want Your Moment on the Big Screen?
Get to the front of your corral early—that’s how runners end up on the big screen holding the corral banner!
Where are the Balloon ladies?
The Balloon Ladies start at the back of the last corral (Corral G). They maintain a 16-minute mile pace and act as the official sweepers of the race.
If you stay ahead of them, you’re on track to finish. I trained ahead of time, so I was able to keep my distance—but starting in a later corral definitely puts you closer to them from the beginning.
What is the Disney Princess Half Marathon 2026 Route?
The runDisney Princess Half Marathon 2026 course truly lives up to the phrase “every mile is magic”—because yes, you really do run down Main Street, U.S.A. ✨
The race begins in the EPCOT parking area and takes you along Disney roadways, passing iconic resorts like Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Along the way, you’ll find character stops, high-energy music, and entertainment to keep you motivated.

🏰 The Highlight: Magic Kingdom Mile
The midpoint of the race brings you into Magic Kingdom—and this is where the course becomes unforgettable.
Running down Main Street, U.S.A. toward Cinderella Castle is hands down the most magical moment of the race.

👑 Character Moments & Princess Magic
After the castle, the course continues through Adventureland and back through the castle area, where you’ll spot princesses and princes cheering you on.
One of my favorite surprises? Seeing the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, and Prince Charming waving from the castle—such a magical moment!
✨ The Final Stretch Back to EPCOT
After Magic Kingdom (around the halfway point), the course heads back toward EPCOT—but the energy doesn’t slow down.
And my personal favorite? Getting sprinkled with pixie dust on the way back! ✨
Bathroom and Water Stations During the runDisney Princess Half Marathon
Knowing where to find bathrooms and hydration during the runDisney Princess Half Marathon can make your race day so much smoother—especially for first-time runners.

🚻 Bathroom Stops (What to Expect)
Bathroom availability can vary slightly, but for this race, the first major restroom stop wasn’t until around mile 2.
👉 I was very glad I used the bathrooms multiple times before the race started!
💧 Water + Hydration Stations
There are plenty of water and Powerade stations throughout the course, so hydration is easy to stay on top of.
⚡ Fuel Stops + What to Bring
There was only one official fuel stop, so it’s a good idea to bring your own running fuel if you rely on it.
👉 I brought my favorite—GU Chocolate Outrage Energy Gel—and was able to easily carry two in my pocket.
✨ Bonus Tip (Don’t Skip This 👀)
Keep an eye out near the finish in EPCOT—sometimes there’s a Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company stand open.
Because honestly… crossing the finish line with a coffee or treat just feels right ☕✨
Characters at the runDisney Princess Half Marathon
One of the best parts of the runDisney Princess Half Marathon is the incredible lineup of characters along the race course—especially the rare ones you don’t typically see in the parks.
- Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather
- Marie (from The Aristocats)
- Snow White
- Tiana and Prince Naveen
- Elena of Avalor
- Raya
- Asha
- Pocahontas
- Mulan & Shang
- Princess Minnie
- Prince Mickey
- The Beast
- Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, and Prince Charming

There were definitely even more characters throughout the course, but I always prioritize the rarer meet-and-greets you don’t usually find in the parks.
🎉 After-Party Character Meet & Greets
At the finish line after-party, you’ll find even more opportunities to meet fan favorites.
I had to wait in line for Rapunzel—I was wearing her medal, so it felt meant to be 💜✨
✨ runDisney Tip: Character lines can get long, especially early in the race. If photos are important to you, plan which characters are “must-do” ahead of time so you don’t lose too much time on the course.
How to Find Your runDisney Race Photos (PhotoPass Guide)
One of the best parts of the runDisney Princess Half Marathon is reliving the magic through your race photos—and yes, there are a lot of them! ✨
📸 Where PhotoPass Photos Are Taken
You’ll find Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the course, especially:
✔ Magic Kingdom (castle + Main Street shots!) ✔ Character meet-and-greets ✔ Finish line area in EPCOT
There are also Cast Members who can take photos with your phone if you want extra shots.
🎯 How Photos Are Linked to You
Your race photos are connected using your bib number, so make sure it’s clearly visible on the front of your outfit.
👉 Photos are taken quickly, so be ready with your poses and smiles—there’s no time for do-overs!
📲 How to Access Your runDisney Photos
Your photos should appear in your My Disney Experience app—but sometimes they don’t show up automatically.
If that happens: ✔ Go to your check-in pass email ✔ Find your PhotoPass code ✔ Manually link it in the app
👉 Once linked, your race photos and character photos should appear in your gallery.
runDisney Princess Half Marathon Medals
The runDisney Princess Half Marathon medals are truly next-level—and honestly, one of the best rewards for crossing that finish line. ✨

I received my medal shortly after finishing the race, and for the half marathon, it featured Rapunzel. Each medal is designed with a beautiful stained-glass style backdrop, making them feel extra special and collectible.
The level of detail gets better every year—these are the kind of medals you’ll want to display, not tuck away in a drawer. ✨
